New Zealand
New Zealand
August 24th – 26th, 2006
Thursday 24th – Auckland
Friday 25th – Wellington
Saturday 26th – Christchurch
What I particularly enjoyed during my last trip to New Zealand was the variety of people attending the seminars. As you’ll see on the pictures below, men and women of all generations gathered in Auckland and Wellington to share their view on Glenfiddich.
A nice surprise was waiting for me in Christchurch where I hosted a tasting for a large whisky society called ‘The Whisky Guild’. Michael Fraser Milne, the Whisky Guild Chairman, made me an honorary member. Thank you Michael, I guess I’ll have to come back next year!
Best regards,
Ludo

Interesting, this post was made in the future?! :P (24th August).
I was just wondering (because I live in Auckland), what is defined as a "professional" that can attend this event?
I am currently a software developer which is a "profession" :) ...
Yea, I just found this blog!, quite interesting

Welcome to our blog Antonio!
We currently use the event date as our posting date to ensure our 'up and coming events' are organised in chronological order. I don't know how we can change this but I'm always open to suggestions from software developers!
What I meant by 'professionals' was bartenders, bar owners, journalists, etc... in other words, people who work in the drinks industry.
We've increased the number of events in Auckland from 1 to 2 but we still haven't got enough room for everyone. Can you travel to Christchurch by any chance?
Best regards,
Ludo

I presume the information is stored in a database... the way I usually order things, is to use a field "order" or "weight" or something, which is just an Integer that is sorted...
select field1, field2 from table1 order by weightfield
I am unable to travel to Christchurch for the event :(, when is the next event in Auckland? will it be open to everyone? :)

Thank you Ludo for coming so far to share your knowledge (and samples!) with us. It's not every day that a 40 year old Glenfiddich is able to be sampled. As a descandant of a Gordon family from Banffshire you really made my week. Thanks again, and have a safe trip home.

Antonio,
Thank you for the tip, we'll definitely look into it.
I had a fantastic time in New Zealand but it's unlikely I'll be able to come back until next year.
May I suggest you register with www.glenfiddich.co.nz?
Lion Nathan, our distributor in New Zealand, organise regular glenfiddich events. They keep registered users of the website up-to-date with what's happening in New Zealand through monthly emails.
Hope this helps,
Ludo

Doug/Aaron,
Thank you for your kind words.
I hope we'll meet again. Perhaps in Dufftown by the Solera Vat?
