A man named Glenfiddich

Our Visitor Centre welcomed a particularly unusual visitor, while I was away on my travels last week. Nicholas Glenfiddich Lahren, a 26-year-old technician from Philadelphia, is believed to be the only person to have been christened with Glenfiddich as part of his name.

Born in Norwich in 1980, Nicholas Glenfiddich was named in honour of his father’s passion for our single malt. When our former marketing director heard of his unusual naming, he wrote to his parents offering them the chance to have a special Glenfiddich crystal decanter presented to their son on his 18th Birthday. The family moved to the US and this trip marks the first time Nicholas has returned to the UK since he was a boy.

Nicholas Glenfiddich toured his spiritual home with his mother and two brothers, and he was then presented with the special decanter promised to him 27 years ago as well as a personalised bottle of Glenfiddich Solera Reserve 15 Year Old.

Ah, if only my dad had called me Jaguar…

Hi Ludo

I had two cats, a male called Glen and a female called Fiddich. Does that count too ;-)

Cheers

No, it doesn`t count as you already have enough Glenfiddich to feed the world.
I have a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 with a foot label made specially for the launch of the new 12 year old in 2000, interesting......

Hi Ian

I thought so ;-) Any chance that you can send me a picture of the 12 years with the foot label or display it here?

Hi H-H and Ian,

As you said Ian, H-H already has enough Glenfiddich yet, I suggest that bottle goes to the Netherlands...

Bye, Frank

As for this special story, I'll definitely write into the article. ^_^
