Glenfiddich celebrates opening of Terminal 5 with new private vintage
As you may have seen in the news, Heathrow's new wing - Terminal 5 - will open tomorrow after five years in construction. To celebrate this historic event, our malt master David Stewart has selected a single 1973 American oak cask, which will be sold exclusively at the new terminal from tomorrow.
Cask number 28553, which was filled with new-make Glenfiddich spirit on 24th September 1973, was matured for more than 34 years. Over this long period of time, the whisky has developed a rich, silky sweet flavour with hints of spice and oak.
For those of you who might be passing by Heathrow before the end of April, please note that you will only be able to take a look at our new vintage at World of Whiskies' new T5 shop. However from May, it will also become available in other selected World of Whiskies' shops. Bottled at 48% ABV, it is a limited edition of 177 bottles which will retail at £1,000 each.
Best regards,
Ludo
