Who are we?
Ian Millar
Chief Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich.
Born in Pitlochry in Perthshire in the Highlands of Scotland in 1953, Ian Millar joined William Grant & Sons Ltd in 1998 as Distilleries Manager for the company's flagship Glenfiddich and Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilleries.
Ian has over 30 years experience in Scotch whisky, having worked for a number of distillers in various technical and production roles, including bottling, mashing, distillation and warehousing. He was previously distillery manager at the Bladnoch, Mortlach, Blair Athol, Dalwhinnie, Linkwood and Glen Elgin Distilleries before joining William Grant & Sons.
He has also served on the company's nosing panel and is an active member of his local community in Dufftown, where he conducts regular nosing and tasting sessions for enthusiastic locals as part of his role as Vice Chairman of Dufftown 2000 and co-organiser of Dufftown Whisky Festivals.
Ian is married to Anneke and has two children and currently lives in Speyside, near to the Glenfiddich Distillery.
Thanks to the growing success of Glenfiddich, Ian is spending an increasing amount of time spreading the word about Glenfiddich in many countries around the world.
When not nosing and tasting Glenfiddich, or working on his numerous community projects, Ian likes to spend his free time playing golf and walking his dogs in the beautiful Highland countryside that surrounds his home.
Ludovic Ducrocq
Global Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich.
Ludo, who originates from France, was studying Scottish literature at the University of Glasgow when his friend first offered him a drink of Scotland's finest, and only had one idea in mind after graduating in 2000 to move to Dufftown, the heart of Highland malt whisky.
He was soon employed as a Tour Guide at The Glenfiddich Distillery and moved into an old excise house located between the Glenfiddich and Balvenie distilleries.
Living on the distillery site meant Ludo was able to work closely with the distillery team on every stage of Glenfiddich's crafting, constantly learning from the vastly experienced distillers, coopers, coppersmith, mashmen and warehouse keepers.
In 2002 he became a Guide Leader and was asked to oversee the training and management of the Visitor Centre Team. Later that year, he became the youngest member of the Company's Nosing Panel and subsequently joined the New Product Development Tasting Panel.
In 2004, Ludo began his current role as Global Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich and considers his new responsibilities as an honour:
"The Grant family pioneered the single malt industry as we know it today, and I feel privileged to represent their independent spirit on an international level."
